The Scholarship Foundation of Northshore will offer 11 – and eventually 12 – new scholarships for graduating seniors of Northshore’s high schools. Seven of the new $2,500 grants will be directed to fields of study. Four will be placed at specific secondary schools. The 12th new scholarship will be specific to the district’s new North Creek High School opening in the fall of 2017 with its first graduates in the class of 2019.
The seven “field of study” scholarships are for those planning post-secondary education and career pursuits in the fields of:
- Arts and Music
- Business and Law
- Education
- General Studies
- Healthcare
- T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
- Vocational and Occupational
School-specific scholarships in 2017 will be for graduates at Bothell, Inglemoor and Woodinville high schools and at the Secondary Academy for Success (SAS).
The 11 will be among more than 50 to be offered through the Foundation to be awarded in the spring of 2017 for academic year 2017-18. This past year, the Foundation provided $191,570 in scholarships for those in school this fall.
After 2017, the 12 new Field of Study and High School-Specific scholarships will be funded through future fund-raising efforts and growth of the Foundation’s invested assets of nearly $1.5 million. The Foundation is encouraging families, organizations, businesses and individuals to consider providing other new, post-secondary, donor-sponsored $2,500 grants. These will be fully funded by sponsors and the Foundation will promote and process.
