About the Sponsor
The Susan P. Anderson Memorial Scholarship was created to honor the legacy of Susan Anderson, a loving wife, voracious learner, supportive colleague, loyal friend, and absolute best mother of four Woodinville High School graduates. Susan was an ardent pursuer of knowledge. No matter the topic, she would be able to talk about it, but she preferred asking questions. She thrived in academia - the first in her family to attend college, earning a History degree with honors from the University of Washington, and she continued to seek out opportunities to grow her knowledge throughout her life. Susan wanted to see, experience, and learn about everything, from rocking with the top bands of the 60’s and 70’s live in concert (The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, etc.), to protesting against the Vietnam War, to taking her family on local educational vacations to places like the Grand Coulee Dam, Mt. St. Helens, and Lewis and Clark Historical Park. She loved planes and especially loved to travel, going to Europe and Asia several times with family. She flew to San Francisco when Boeing’s 747 was launched just to see what it was like to fly in one. Her enthusiasm for learning and discovery was boundless. And so it is especially apt to honor her legacy with a scholarship to help others continue their education, to learn and experience all that life has to offer.
